2014 Season 5K New *** 9th Sept ***
Race Dates for 2014
5K Tues 10th June and 9th Sept
Children's fun runs Tues 20th May and Tues 17th June
With less than three weeks to go until the next edition of the LC Swansea Bay 5k we are busy finalising all the details for the event.
We have had the guys out to measure a slightly amended course, this will mean a new PB must be set ;-) and to help us do this we have Tri & Enter on board to supply electronic chip timing.
For all those who love their fitness apps we will get out and Strava the route.
Yet again Becky and her fab team from BodyWorks Soft Tissue Therapy will be on hand to sooth those aching muscles with sports massages.
Hannah from The Junction will be the hostess with the most - supplying post-race culinary delights and The Box will be open pre-race for a full range of snacks and drinks.
We have a few more exciting things in the pipeline, so will hopefully have more to report in the coming weeks!!!
Entry form is available now!
17th June 2014 - WOW! 986 children took part in the fun runs.
The sun was shining whilst almost one thousand cheerful faces ran along on the promenade in our best ever Children's fun runs.
With the our biggest ever attendance anything could happen with the school prizes for highest attendance.

The rain stayed away for one of the busiest races we ever had! Winners were Jac Hopkins in a time of 15min 5seconds and Rachel Evans in a time of 19min 37seconds.
A big congratulations must go to the local Health board who had over 200 entrants, everyone with a smile on their face no matter what their finishing time.
Another shout out must go to Run4All who again brought a large number of cheerful runners.

Dedicated day for Primary School Children Fun Runs!
This year we will repeat our club competitions. As we are a race for all abilities we are offering two prizes, one for the club who can get the most runners to enter and the other for the quickest club.
Primary School Challenge
This year we will be donating money to the 4 primary schools who get the most children to enter both day's fun runs.
The school with the highest total over both races will receive £400, the second £300, the third £200 and the fourth £100.
Last year Brynymor, Mayals, Oystermouth and Sketty schools won. We also had a prize for the June race - best attendance award based on % of pupils to school size, which was won by Christchurch(£200). Photo shows Imogen Knill, Maren Williams, Katie Thomas, Marni Thomson & Isabella Cain of Bishopston Primary School showing off their medals and winning cheque (2012) to Grant Howells of the 5K team and Gareth Widlake their Headteacher.
