Last race of 2009 series!

The last race of the series on August 4th was held despite the threat of rain. The main race saw Simon Jones continue his winning streak with a time of 15min 24sec, whilst Kate Roberts of Bridgend won in a time of 18min 26secs.

Oystermouth primary school were runaway winners of the U12 children's races with the highest number of entries over the 3 events.
They receive a cheque for £250. Look out for a similar scheme next year.

You can always avoid the queues and help our volunteers by pre-entering the next race up to a week before each race. The entry form is available here.

Whitford Point Multi-terrain Race - Wednesday 20th May 2009

It may have been a little damp, but 159 people enjoyed the 6½ miles long road, beach and forest trails of Whitford.
Winners were Mark Davies in a time of 36min 05s and Elle Ridley in 41min 53s.

So you want to enter the Swansea Bay 5K series...

Three races are held each summer along the picturesque seafront walkway towards Mumbles. The races take place on the second Tuesday of the month in June and July and the first Tuesday in August. The first race this year is on June 9th. We have a mixture of races for the under 12s starting at 6pm, and a 1 mile challenge for Under 15s that starts at 6:30pm just before the main race at 7pm.

The 5K series attracts all sorts from first time racers to seasoned veterans. Everyone is made to feel welcome, so there is no excuse not to come and join us. If you're looking to get started then don't worry the course is flat and fast. Have a look at the basic training tips in our info section and don't forget to enjoy yourself. If you're a seasoned pro then you always have last year's time to beat (course record is by Simon Jones - 14min 40sec). If you beat the course record then you win £100!

Stick around post-race as you can exchange your 5K race number for a drink and snack courtesy of the Junction Cafe Bar.

Don't forget the Swansea Bay 10km in September 2009.
It's regularly voted as one of the best 10k races in the country!
